- ENDOSCOPIC SPAY & GASTROPEXY
In a traditional spay a 2” to 3” incision is made in the abdomen through which the ovarian ligament is blindly torn from the abdominal wall. This tearing causes bruising to you pets abdominal wall and postoperative pain. In most cases your pet will be required to stay overnight. The incision takes up to two weeks to heal, with ample opportunity for infection or for her to tear open the stitches.
By spaying your pet laparoscopically she will experience less trauma, heal faster and experience up to 65% less post-operative pain.
In cases of larger breed, deep chested dogs gastropexy can be performed at the time of the laparoscopic spay to prevent life-threatening gastic torsion (bloat)
.

Microchip permanent identification systems have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer Home Again microchip implantation during routine office calls or when your pet is under anesthesia. The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is inserted permanently under your pet's skin (between their shoulder blades) with a special syringe. Each chip has a unique identification number assigned to your pet. All Orange County shelters have a hand-held scanner which identifies your pet and allows the shelter to notify you or your veterinarian.

- DENTAL
CARE
Regular
professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's health.
We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth also to save tremendous time for anesthesia we use digital dental x-ray to evaluate root area(remember! more than half of teeth anatomy is root We can't see without it) thoroughly
- above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth
to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque
buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce
tooth sensitivity. A wax sealer is then applied to slow down plaque
from returning. Non-anesthetic cleanings are available for pets
that do not have dental problems more serious than tartar and
plaque, as well anesthetic dentistry for those who want to maintain
their pets' professional cleanings with the comfort of sleep.
- NON ANESTHETIC DENTAL CLEANING
New!
An alternative to anesthetic dental cleanings for pets with tartar
and plaque but no gum disease! Omni care provides non-anesthetic
dental cleanings at Capistrano
Veterinary Clinic. The results are fantastic! Call for an appointment.
- BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE
Illness doesn't
always have a physical cause. We can help determine the cause
of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior
in your pet, and then develop a treatment regimen for you. We
have many behavioral pamphlets available for you as well as access
to animal behavior pamphlets for professional help if needed.
- BATHING AND CLIP-DOWNS
Consider treating your pet to a luxurious bath. Our modern bathing facility offers your pet spa quality care. Grooming is important for maintaining the comfort and health of your pet's nails, skin and coat and for eliminating skin parasites. Our cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and pet odor - your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that reduce the itching. All baths also include brush out, nail trim, and ear cleaning. The "clip-downs" are needed for long haired pets that have become so tangled that it is impossible to brush out the mats, or some animals are more comfortable in the summer with a lighter coat. We also offer professional dog grooming services on Mondays. Please call us for more information!
